Standing On Boxes

In Tomb Raider - Cradle of Life so far I’ve noticed the following awkward/false moments that they should have done better. Distracting. Ruins the flow of the movie.

1. When Hilary makes a snide remark when they pick her up in the sub.
2. When the MI6 goon explains who Terry Sheridan is to his fellow goon when they are at Croft Manor.
3. When Lara tells Terry about the flat in Zurich
4. The bayonet drill moment – the part when she does the ‘formal drill’ part of it.

I’m sure there’s more…

It really is snowing. That’s a surprise.

Weird. Predictions of 5-6 inches of snow early tomorrow in the Knoxville, TN area. Didn’t think it was cold enough. If it does actually snow I’ll just work from home.

Afraid? Of the snow? Me? No. Just cautious. I’ve lived where thee was heavy snow in the winter for most of the last 39 years but people around here haven’t. And this is the first time in 7 years I don’t have snow tires on my daily driver. Seemed kind of pointless in TN.

And can we say the world is a better place yet? The ultra-left liberals and the ultra-right conservatives are still trying to tell the rest of us what to do when they should simply stay out of our business. And once again, no presidential candidate worth voting for. Oops.

Yikes! There are actual people using the grassy area in the middle of the apartment complex I live in. First time I’ve seen that in the 7 months I’ve lived here. Note: It’s in TN – 50+F weather.

That would be the interesting process of purchasing a computer from Dell via the Internet.

Having an urge to go to IHOP for lunch tomorrow… not sure it’ll last until then.

Thought I would install VMS 7.3-2 on my new Alphaserver 400. (Initialized the hard drive.) Not the slowest old Alpha out there. The DECpc AXP 150 this one replaced was about half the speed.

So far — Base system, DECnet IV, TCP-IP 5.4 (Now we’re doing SSH!), Motif
and some layered products.

• HP Basic 1.5
• HP C 6.5
• DECset

And the usual work related fun stuff. Now I can work at home on those days I can’t make it into the office and my internet connection is down.

Now this takes some thinking because the answer isn’t that obvious.

Think about God (Or god as the case may be). When he’s all business I’m sure he drives something fast and powerful with enough room to throw an archangel in the back when he’s in a hurry. Most likely it’s an E39 BMW M5 circa 2002. Probably with that optional chameleon paint job so he can match his mood.

On a rare day you might see him out in his 2002 Turbo, but parts are hard to come by in his neck of the woods so it doesn’t get much use.

Now, when God just wants to go for a cruise, a little joyride on the autobahn or the Pacific Coast Highway in California, I’m sure she takes out her Alpina modified Z4.

So what does Jesus drive? Probably not something from Bavaria though there are rumors he has a BMW motorcycle hidden away for those days he really needs to get away from the dang apostles. My understanding is that there is a Mini Cooper S in his parking spot at the Pearly Gates. Fun to drive but no room for baggage.

Okay… down to the home stretch on the fic I’ve been posting to TtH and I’m stuck. Ouch. But the feedback on the other parts is somewhat addictive so I don’t think I’ll wait another 4 months before I start posting the next one.

Half way through the second week in February already? How did that happen?

Guess I wasn’t the only person annoyed with the constant daily phone messages from Edwards before the primary in TN. Kerry beat him and Clark dropped out (darn.).

And does anyone really care about Bush and Vietnam other than the media? I would rather they attack him for things getting worse in Iraq.

Part 6 is now up on TtH and atbvs.creative. Unfortunately, 7 isn’t done. I’m aiming for the 14th.

Okay. Part 5 made it onto atbvs.creative but TtH seems to be down tonight so that’ll have to wait until tomorrow night. Darn. Part 6 was the hardest to write so far. Seven isn’t done yet but should be easier.

Now we’re up to part 4 as I madly try to complete parts 6 & 7.
