And so it ends…

Any minute now… it will be next year. This past year certainly didn’t turn out the way I expected.

Argh!

I hate finding mistakes in a fic. I was going over OG Pt. 3 before posting it to atbvs.creative and found at least one misused word, one misspelled and a few sentences that needed fixing. And since I’d already posted it to TtH… I had to fix it there. And then there’s the copy here…

Longest fic interval so far

Just finished Part 3 of my fic “The Other Girl”, 5 1/2 months after part 2. It’s been sitting there, mostly done for 2 months. This is the longest I’ve gone between posting parts once I started something.

Weird Blog Behavior

My blog management tool seems to have a problem with posting changes to my new “Slayer Witch” series pages. So the two stories that are part of that series are only visible through the FFA entry page. I think it’s a date thing. I have those pages pre-dated to Jan 1, 2005. We’ll see in a couple days.

Wrong time of day to be watching FoodTV

The Secret Life of Hot Dogs… is giving me the munchies! Argh!!! Personally I prefer sauerkraut and mustard … or a chili dog.

I got it!

Got what? The poster I wanted.

This beverage company Sky Vodka has some unique advertisements. Pretty close to art. Sort of. I wanted a copy of one of them so I checked out their website. You can sign up on their website and they’ll send you a poster. Maybe. You have to be one of the first couple thousand people in a week to ask for one. Okay.

So… I signed up. Looked at the posters… didn’t see the one I wanted so I picked a different one. I got lucky and they sent it to me. Okay… not sure what I’m going to do with it. Get one of those poster frames? They are not cheap posters.

A month later I got e-mail from them… some pseudo contest. Be one of the first 2000 people to find something on their website and win a poster. It was the poster of the Advertisement I’d originally wanted. So…

The poster showed up today… not sure what I’ll do with it… but I have it.

Surprise!

Just in time for Christmas… Coolant leak No. 3 in the red car. Looks like it’s going to cost at least $300 to fix. Just what I wanted for Christmas.

Odd phrase of the week

Heard in a mattress commercial (One of those very expensive motorized things)

You and your sleep partner

How to say a lot of different things but NOT offend anyone. On any side of the political/social/religious spectrum in the US.

NaNoWriMo (4)

I’ve started cleaning up my NaNoWriMo story in preparation to actually start working on it again. It can be found on my WiP page as “The Apprentice”

Fic-For-All (2)

The TtH 2004 Winter Holiday Fic-For-All

I’ve written three short fics so far. ( See my Works in Progress page) and had ideas for a few more. My goal is 10 before the end (in 2 weeks). Not sure if I’ll make it. I think 5 long and 5 shorts will fo it. Maybe.

Oops…

Accidentally set off the car alarm in the Knoxville Borders parking lot this afternoon… and it took me an eternity to remember how to turn it of… first time I’ve done that since I enabled the alarm last year. And, of course, no one seemed to pay attention… or maybe it wasn’t loud enough?

Phone spam?

Argh! Some people don’t get the hint! Someone started calling my phone and not leaving a message. Family would have left a message (not that anyone I know would call that late at night… even the telemarketers don’t call that late. ) Every five minutes starting at 10pm.

I finally got fed up and answered the phone and rudely told them they had the wrong number and to stop it. How did I know it was the wrong number? See above.

One stop shopping

Need something? Go to Wal-Mart. It has everything. Managed to get a haircut, a roll of quarters, a book of stamps and do my grocery shopping at the local super-Walmart this afternoon, all within 2 hours.
