Standing On Boxes

Several people have pointed out errors in the KP fic I’ve been posting to “TtH” and fanfiction.net.
So far… the following errors escaped into the “wild” (And have since been fixed) –
Prologue :
Changed one “glue” to “glued” (and added “while trying to avoid inhaling too much dust” to clarify something.)
Chapter 1:
Found “where” when it should have been “were”‘ (twice),
Had “official” when it should have been “officially”
Chapter 2:
Replaced “keene” with “keen”
Replaced one “quite” with “quiet”
Added “wearing” to “ear plugs”
And in other news… removed a slayer from Chapter 4 and changed all references to another of the slayers with Kim at the Hellmouth. (It was a continuity issue.)
I’m sure there are more… but hopefully I’ll catch them all next time before posting the chapters anywhere. Really.

Two more scenes to write and I’ll have the rough draft of my KP/BtVS crossover done. Not sure how long they’ll be but I hope to start polishing the whole thing this coming weekend and start posting it before the end of the month. I hope.
(Not sure what kind of posting schedule it’ll have. I would like to have it all out there by the end of the month.)
The one part that originated in that ’round robin’ — I’m thinking of rewriting that so it is from Shego’s point of view. Wouldn’t be any longer but it would fit better.
And then I can start working on other fics.

On today’s agenda — what if I told a story in flashbacks? Not necessarily a good idea. But Joyce and Albus weren’t doing anything due to a serious case of canon-death so I thought I’d put them to work.

A little stuck in my current story, the KP one. I have a good idea how the rest of it is going to go but not the actual words.

• A short montage of KP at the Council’s training center in Cleveland
• A trip to the Hellmouth
• A return trip to the Hellmouth when Shego shows up in Cleveland with Drakken.
• The requisite fight between KP and Shego
• Shego and KP meet up at Xander’s bar later on.

(I’m using the bar idea from the TtH round robin “Tales from the Barman…” – though toned down a bit since the current “continuity” (if there is such a thing) of that story is just too outlandish/wild. )

Another lazy weekend… didn’t go anywhere — I would have just spent money I shouldn’t though I really need to do the grocery shopping, I’m out of a few things like soda, juice, and a few other necessities.
The setting clocks forward weeks early… not really a big deal.
Really need to get some bills in the mail… didn’t do that this weekend like I really should have. Oops.
Not a lot on tv this week… the KP episode was a repeat – though they have the next one up on Disney’s website already.

I don’t normally do the flashback thing in my stories. I always find that to be an awkward technique for advancing a story.

I really need to watch a bunch of KP episodes. I think I’m writing a few characters as too adult in my KP WiP. But first I need to finish fleshing out the story. At the rate I’m going it’s approximately a week a part and then it’ll take a week to polish the whole thing so it can be posted. Might have it done by Easter. Yikes! This whole “Write the complete story before posting” thing… I can’t imagine doing it for a really long story and this one is going to be over 30K words before I finish it…
