Set in the same story universe as my fic Portal Girl and the Science Lady. Guess I’ll have to make it a series?
Jenny Shepard doesn’t really die at the end of Season 5 of NCIS? This story would explain how and why she ends up working for the Council.
Note: New series – The RedHeaded League – and ‘Portal Girl’ has been moved there (for anyone who has it bookmarked – you might want to change it to point to the new location.)
Story spoilers below – in a rambling sort of way. Just thinking aloud…
Story premise – Jenny Shepard doesn’t die at the end of NCIS Season 5. But only Vance and the people he takes her to (who provide a clone to bury) know that. I’m sure he has a “good” reason. Really. Might even be her idea.
So, months before Buffy meets Janet, Buffy and Co. are doing some kind of team bonding exercise (cosplay at a comic convention somewhere?) when somehow they rescue Jenny from wherever she is (she just woke up from her coma?). Maybe someone is kidnapping cosplayers and they nab Buffy & Co?
She (Jenny) can’t go home since everyone thinks she’s dead (?). So she ends up in Cleveland with the Council as another “Buffy” redhead.
Or maybe… since this is set in a Stargate/BtVS crossover universe… Vance is NID and does a deal with Loki (Loki gets to clone Jenny, Vance gets something for the NID? Or against the NID?) So the Jenny that Buffy & Co rescue isn’t the “real” Jenny (maybe a bit younger) Which is why she can’t go home? And explains how she survived whatever fatal illness she had in Season 5.
I think the Scoobies need an experienced Intelligence person…
Hmm… will the people at NCIS find out? And who among the Scoobies will recognize her? And will she be paired with anyone? Ziva? Gibbs? Giles?
Couldn’t be simpler. Under 10K words? Assuming I can get it to work.
But why not. There’s a BtVS/NCIS where Kate comes back from the dead. And another where the slayers rescue Ziva when everyone thinks she’s dead.
I thought Buffy’s group should be called ‘red squadron’, because it is a group of fighters led by a blonde person.
(p.s: my computer broke, and I’m using an alternate system)
Well… “League” sounds more ‘secret society’-ish. In a 1930′s pulp serial kind of way. And covers more than just the slayers working with Buffy in this series. So it works for the series of stories I hope to write.
I’ll have to think about having a name specifically for Buffy’s team… a lot of fics that use the slayer team concept do give those teams different names but I haven’t yet in any of mine (My Buff/Gilmore Girls series, and the Kim Possible crossover series have slayer teams.).
